LAHORE – Following the orders of Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Aslam Tareen, the Lahore Police on Saturday installed six high-quality close circuit television (CCTV) sets at the Charing Cross. The surveillance system have been installed with collaboration of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) at a cost of more than Rs 0.6 million.
Such equipment would also be installed at all leading business markets, for VIP movement and from the Qartaba Chowk to the Governor’s House for security purposes. Tareen inaugurated the installation of the CCTVs and thanked the FPCCI for its collaboration. Speaking on the occasion, the CCPO said that a strong team work, cooperation with traders, the general public and the print and electronic media is essential for improving law and order.
Anti-Polio campaign starts on March 7: The three-day national anti-polio campaign will be started in Punjab from March 7..Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Health Punjab Dr. Saeed Elahi inaugurated the campaign today by administrating anti-polio vaccine to the children at Children’s Hospital Lahore.
Health EDO Dr.Umar Farooq Baloch and Children’s Hospital Dean Prof Dr. Tahir Masood were also present on the occasion. Anti-polio drops will be administrated to 36,8065 children of five years age in Lahore district and 2,847 teams will visit homes to vaccinate children. The mobile teams will consist of government officials instead of volunteers.
