PPP’s estranged leader and former foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on today in what will be his second visit to Sindh in a week. Qureshi is scheduled to meet with Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief and spiritual leader of Hurs, Pir Pagaro, on Sunday. Sources privy to the situation said Qureshi would stay in Karachi for three days, during which he is also expected to meet with some party’s senior leaders. Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, who is also the senior vice-president of PPP-Sindh, claimed that Qureshi is with the party, and that he would hopefully remain with the party. Talking to journalists after the chief minister’s press conference, Mirza said that his largely-attended public meeting in Chachro(District Tharparkar) was because of the PPP. Mirza argued said that those who had left the PPP had remained unable to arrange such huge public meetings. However, when asked of the banners portraying Qureshi as another Farooq Leghari that had been put up in the city, Mirza chose to sidestep the question.
