LAHORE – Pakistan has succeeded in the mango diplomacy with the United States. Pakistan will start sending the world’s sweetest mango – validated by universal scientific sweetness measurements – to the US from this spring. This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Harvest Trading chief executive officer Ahmad Jawad. He pointed out that currently, Pakistan exports some five percent of mango of the total crop, which are mainly exported to wholesale markets.
He said last year’s test shipment to the US had proved Pakistani mangoes have a promising clientele among the Pakistani-American community. There are 700,000 Pakistani-Americans in the US, in cities as like New York, Houston and Chicago, etc.
