LAHORE The National Cadet Under-16 Boys and Girls Karate Championship will start today (Saturday) at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. Teams from all the four provinces, Islamabad and FATA are participating in the championship. The championship will be held in different weight categories. In boys’ category, contests will be held in below 40 kgs, 45 kgs, 52 kgs, 63 kgs individual Kata and team Kumite. Girls will compete in 40 kgs, 43 kgs, 47 kgs, 54 kgs, individual Kata and team Kumite.
The championship will be held under the current cadet rules of the World Karate Federation. The opening ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM at Liaqat Gymnasium, Islamabad. Syed Amir Hamza Gilani, Director General Pakistan Sports Board, will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Closing and prize distribution ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 6 at 4:00 PM.
