KARACHI – Hasnat Mehmood’s bookshelf portraits of fellow artists are very clever chronicles of contemporary Pakistani art that should not be missed by art enthusiasts, said a press release issued by the Poppy Seed Gallery where Mehmood’s solo art exhibition titled ‘The Inquiry of Art’ is running until March 13. Mehmood is a visual artist who graduated in 2001 from Lahore’s National College of Arts where he now teaches.
His artworks are a part of collections at the British Museum and the Fukuoka Museum of Asian Art in Japan. The artwork featuring in the current exhibition include ‘Back to Basics’, ‘Do it Yourself’, ‘The Inquiry of Art’, the ‘Inflation Design’ series, ‘Contemporary Pakistani Art’, ‘Flirting with Bank Notes’, ‘Notebook’, and ‘Manipulating Jinnah’.
