ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid group’s central leaders on Thursday filed three separate applications in the Supreme Court seeking action against Additional DG FIA Zafar Ahmed Qureshi under criminal law. The applications were filed by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Ch Pervaiz Elahi, Ch Wajahat Hussain and Ch Moonis Elahi through counsels Senator Wasim Sajjad, Senator SM Zafar and Dr Khalid Ranjha, said a press release issued from Ch Shujaat’s residence.
The applicants have pleaded the Supreme Court to order registering of cases against Zafar Ahmed Qureshi under criminal law and contempt of court ordinance for his misstatements before the apex court during NICL case hearing that he was facing life threats from Chaudhry Brothers.
“The false charges of having life threats from the Chaudhrys has badly damaged reputation of applicants therefore the apex court should take action against Qureshi under articles 193 and 500 of the Pakistan Penal Code,” the applicants have pleaded in the application further saying that they had not hurled any such threat to Zafar Qureshi and they were law abiding citizens.
The Chaudhry brothers have also pleaded that Zafar Qureshi should be removed from NICL case and an honest officer be appointed to probe the scam in a transparent manner.
