LAHORE – The provincial service officers protested in the Punjab Civil Secretariat for not including the promotion cases of Provincial Civil Service (PCS) and Provincial Secretariat Service (PSS) officers on the agenda of the promotion board meeting held on Friday.
The provincial officers led by PCS Officers’ Association President Rai Manzoor Nasir gathered in front of the services secretary’s office to register their protest. They alleged that Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa had “promised” to consider the promotion cases of PCS and PSS officers, and although the promotion board meeting from BS-17 to BS-18 was held, the cases of the provincial officers were not kept on the agenda.
Nasir told the protestors, “DMG officers always create hurdles in their promotions but the services secretary has assured that the promotion board will meet on Sunday to consider promotion cases of officers (provincial service) from Grade 17 to Grade 18, while cases from grade 16 to grade 17 will be considered next week.” The officers dispersed after the assurance.
