Charity event in Dubai for Pakistan flood victims today

LAHORE – In a testament to the power of charitable giving, a star-studded evening organized by “Quintessentially” on March 4, called “Pakistan Appeal” will see influential members of the UAE and the regional society give their charity and thoughts to the enduring plight of millions of flood victims, who lost everything in the greatest disaster ever to hit Pakistan.
The opening address will be made by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. He is one of the largest private foreign investors in Pakistan and a strong proponent of Pakistan’s potential, frequently expressing his admiration for the country’s business environment and reaffirming his own commitment to the banking and telecom sector.
Sheikh Nahyan’s speech will complement appearances by luminaries such as Imran Khan, Engin Soysal, UN Special Envoy for Assistance to Pakistan, and Shaukat Aziz. The UNICEF team will also make a presentation on the disaster and relief efforts including a detailed account of the situation and footage of UNICEF learning centers and relief camps. A Human Interest Story will also be aired highlighting the impact of UNICEF on the lives of millions of flood victims.
These messages coupled with surprise appearances by celebrities and attendance by esteemed dignitaries will serve as a powerful symbol of humanitarian unity that will inspire others to replicate such efforts in the future. The evening will then allow participants to show their charitable side in the form of a Signature Raffle draw featuring over $150,000 worth of prizes, a live auction for priceless items that will be announced in the days leading up to the event and individual and corporate monetary/in-kind pledges throughout the evening. The event will round off with a Live Concert by Meekal Hasan Band.
