HAFIZABAD – At least two people died from suffocation in village Kot Kushhal Khan near Hafizabad. Reportedly, Shabbir Hussain and Zahid Iqbal were sleeping in a room when a gas cylinder leaked as a result of which both of them were suffocated to death.
Meanwhile, a three-year-old child was crushed to death in a village Praimkot when a speedy rickshaw ran over him.
332 kgs of hashish seized: Sukheki police arrested three people of village Ammabaltas and recovered 332 kilograms of hashish from them. Reportedly, a village watchman saw some suspected armed bandits in a van and informed the police. After receiving the information, Station House Officer (SHO) Ijaz Bhatti reached the village with a police party, arrested them and recovered 332 kilograms of hashish worth more than Rs one million from the van.
Those arrested were identified as Muhammad Zabair, a resident of village Dohatta, Shabbir Hussain of village Ammabaltas and Muhammad Arshid, a resident of village Nawan Manika while their two accomplices, Sarfraz and Riaz, fled away. Addressing a press conference at Sukheki Police Station, Hafizabad District Police Officer Tariq Chohan said the accused were carrying this hashish to supply in different areas of Punjab and Peshawar. The DPO said the police were committed to curbing the menace of drug trafficking form the district and all-out efforts were being made in this regard.
