LAHORE – Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer carried a performance review on Wednesday to ensure uniform service standard in all districts. Rescue 1122 data revealed that about 27,085 emergency victims have been rescued during 25,921 operations during February in 36 Punjab cities, while maintaining its average response time of seven minutes.
The data shows that collectively the total number of emergencies in February remained 10.5 per cent less than that of in January. The February rescue operations include 4972 rescue operations in Lahore, 2517 in Faisalabad, 793 in Rawalpindi, 1233 in Bahawalpur, 2263 in Multan, 902 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 701 in Rahim Yar Khan, 827 in Sahiwal, 822 in Sialkot, 1937 in Gujranwala, 232 in Murree, 793 in Sargodha, 754 in Jhang, 382 in Toba Tek Singh, 488 in Muzafargarh, 357 in Rajanpur, 259 in Mianwali, 451 in Pakpattan, 403 in Kasur, 323 in Gujrat, 434 in Bahawalnagar, 202 in Jehlum, 278 in Attock, 392 in Khanewal, 279 in Vehari, 164 in Chakwal, 426 in Okara, 236 in Hafizabad, 393 in Sheikhupura, 472 in Lodhran, 168 in Nankana Sahib, 236 in Khushab, 173 in Mandibaha-ud-din, 194 in Narowal, 229 in Layyah and 236 in Bhakkar.
The data also reveals that the emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded included 10365 Road Traffic Accident, 13784 Medical emergencies, 452 Fire incidents, 46 Building collapse incidents, 1178 Crime, 39 Drowning Incidents, 40 Special Rescue operations and 17 Explosions. The Service has saved 452 fire emergencies by timely response and professional and well equipped fire fighting in all districts of Punjab during February, which provided citizens a sense of safety.
The Director General also requested the citizens to take extra care while driving in rain and bad weather and dial 1122 immediately in case of any emergency because only timely call especially in case of a fire emergency is extremely essential for restricting fire from getting out of control.
