Butt says Kaneria’s career is over

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt has said that Danish Kaneria would not be selected in the national team come what may. Speaking to media at the PCB headquarters here Monday, Butt said Danish Kaneria may not be selected in the national team even if he resorted to court. However, the PCB chief later denied giving these comments.
The PCB’s Integrity committee will meet on March 4, and it was learnt that all rounder Shoaib Malik’s case could be reviewed. The likely chance is Malik’s career could be revived if he provides the documents sought by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Yousuf were not considered for central contracts which are likely to be handed over to the players in a few days. Butt also said Shane Wane should be investigated as he had rightly predicted the outcome of a the India-England match which ended in a tie.
