ISLAMABAD – Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja has said that the BISP is a comprehensive social rehabilitation initiative which enjoys constitutional cover as well as the trust and confidence of the people of Pakistan. Speaking at Radio Pakistan’s programme ‘Aaj Shaam, Murtaza Solangi ke Saath’ on Monday, she as a result of ongoing poverty survey throughout Pakistan, the number of beneficiary families registered with the BISP would reach to five million. In response to a query, Farzana termed the return of turncoats’ politics in Punjab as highly regrettable and said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had signed the Charter of Democracy to strengthen democracy in Pakistan and persuaded her political adversaries to take part in the democratic process.
