LAHORE – The concluding ceremony of the 19th National Ski and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Championships was held at PAF Ski Resort Naltar (Gilgit). Major General Ikram ul Haq, Commander FCNA (Force Command Northern Area) was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
In all, 13 teams from all over the country, with 86 skiers, competed for two different categories of slalom and giant slalom events. All skiing associations of Pakistan including Sindh Ski Association, Punjab Ski Association, Baluchistan Ski Association, Azad Kashmir Ski Association, Higher Education Commission, Islamabad Ski Association, Alpine Club of Pakistan, Civil Aviation Authority, Northern Areas Ski Scouts/Gilgit Baltistan Scouts, Northern Areas Ski Association/Gilgit Baltistan Association, Adventure Foundation of Pakistan, Army and Pakistan Air Force participated in the Championships.
A large number of spectators and ski lovers from all across the country witnessed the championships. The chief guest awarded medals and trophies among the skiers. The 19th National Ski Championship Trophy 2011 was won by Gilgit Baltistan Scouts, while Army stood second and Pakistan Air Force bagged third position.
CJCSC Championship Trophy 2011 was won by Gilgit Baltistan Scouts, while Pakistan Air Force and Army stood second and third, respectively. Adventure Foundation of Pakistan were declared winner of Shah Khan Cup, which was also played at Naltar.
