“It is not a conference but a big step towards changing the way Pakistan is perceived,” said COMMECS President Mohammed Asif while speaking at a press conference along with KCCI President Saeed Shafiq on Tuesday. He said the conference was aimed to explore the unexplored sectors of Pakistan in a positive manner. Asif was of the view that propagation of negative image of the country in local and international media has damaged the business environment in the country, adding that the media needs to present a positive image of Pakistan.
“We are rich in natural resources and manpower and we need to give hope to youngsters,” he maintained. The COMMECS president said that renowned speakers from various sectors have been invited to the conference including those from multinational companies. They include former SBP governor Ishrat Hussain, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, leading scientist of the country Dr Samar Mubarak and federal ministers.
Asif said that the COMMECS will also follow such conferences to be held in other parts of the country as well.
