Royal Palm Dog Show – Proud breeders flaunt their Shepherds

LAHORE – The German Shepherd Championship Dog Show was held at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club Driving Range on Sunday. Over 150 German Shepherds were judged under the categories of Minor Puppies (6-9months old), Puppy (over 9 to 12months old), Junior (over12 to 18months old), Youth (over 18 to 24months old) and Open Class (above 2 years old.
More than 500 dog lovers and trainers were present at the occasion. Businessman Imran Husain judged the championship. He said that over the years, best blood from all over the world had been imported to Pakistan while some of the finest dogs had been bred in the country. He also said that this activity provides employment to thousands of people.
“Imran Husain has been judging German shepherds since 1977 and has prior experience of judging more than 100 international specialty shows and 55 All Breed Championship Shows. He is the only man who has won Supreme Championship at Cruts as well as World Sieger titles. He has bred and owns more than a dozen English Champion German Shepherds. He is the first foreigner who was allowed to breed in Germany.” Royal Palm General Manager Omer Mir said that this would be a regular event and the next one will be an all breed show.
Hailey Vom Irfanburg owned by Syed Irfan Haider won the Minor Puppy category, Chaty Von Die Besten owned by Aneeb Mian won female Puppy category, Champ von Besten also owned by Aneeb Mian won male Puppy category, Bally owned by Ahmed Subhani won female Junior category , Billo owned by Ali Malik won male Junior category, Xissi owned by Tahir Shah won Junior category, Skywalker owned by Rai Imtiaz won male category, Jivi owned by Ishtiaq Hussain won female category and Visum owned by Imran Hussain won male Open category.
