LAHORE – Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff (AVLS) Iqbal Town Division Lahore arrested two car lifters of Mumtaz alias Arshad Car lifter gang including its ringleader on Monday and recovered 17 cars and two motorcycles worth Rs 7700,000. Iqbal Town AVLS police team collected Mumtaz alias Arshad gang’s particulars and arrested its two members including the ringleader. The accused were identified as ringleader Muhammad Mumtaz alias Arshad and Muhammad Ehsan.
Police said that the accused unlocked vehicles with a master key and transported them to Peshawar and Sawabi through Motorway where they were sold at cheap rates to Waheed Khan Pathan and Ghani Akbar Khan Pathan. Police also said that the gang ringleader had already been sent to jail thrice.
Ploice said that the accused were history-sheeters and around 29 cases had been traced against them in Islampura, Johar Town, Garden Town, Defence B, Harbancepura, Qilla Gujjar Singh, Wahdat Colony, Shadman, Lower Mall, Samnabad, Township, Factory Area, Johar Town, Samnabad, Civil Lines, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Muslim Town, Factory Area, Shadman, Gowalmandi, Lytton Road, North Cantt and Ghaziabad police stations. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.
