Petrol price hike

The recent statement by Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, countrys finance minister, that they would have to increase the price of fuel in the coming month due to heavy burden on the government because of the subsidy provided by it, has sent alarm bells ringing for the consumers. The city of Karachi wore a deserted look yesterday because of an unannounced strike by the oil companies association.

They should have announced a day earlier so that the people could have managed a solution. It took me a good two hours to get out from a traffic mess after much struggle. The point is why the strike was only in Karachi which is the economic hub of the country.
