Federal ombudsman for speedy redress of complaints

ISLAMABAD – The Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat has decided to write letters to Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), WAPDA and Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), stressing speedy redress of people’s complaints. Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretary Mansoor Sohail told Pakistan Today that complaints against the said organisations had been increasing for the last few months.
“We are going to write letters to them to mend their ways as a large number of people have identical complaints against them,” he said and added he would hold meetings with the heads of various departments soon to discuss measures to improve governance and redress public grievances. Answering a question, Mansoor Sohail said his office was receiving around 80 to 100 complaints daily and most of them were being disposed of within two to three days.
“We received 37,364 complaints from across the country last year of which more than 32,000 were admitted,” he said.
