‘Change will come through Islamic revolution’

LAHORE – If the Holy Prophet (PBUH) brought one message then there should be no divide amongst the Muslims, Consul General of Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Nikan said in a function held by the Pak-Iran Friendship Association on the 32nd anniversary of Islamic revolution of Islamic Republic of Iran and in commemoration of the auspicious occasion of the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) at a local restaurant on Monday.
Senior journalist and political analyst Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, senior analyst Dr Hassan Askari Rizwi, Pir Nazim Hussain Shah and President Pak-Iran Friendship Zia Haider Rizwi also spoke on the occasion. Ali Nikan hoped that the relations between the two countries keep on improving and said Islamic revolution not only guides the society but also brings about an important change in individuals. He hoped for an increased cooperation in various sectors including trade, economics and transportation.
He also thanked the officials of Pak-Iran friendship association.
Former education minister Punjab Mian Imran Masood also graced the occasion.
Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami said that the Iranian revolution was the continuation of the revolution brought by Holy Prophet (pbuh), adding that Pakistan was also on the verge of one. He also discussed the life of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and said that his life is a role model for every Muslim.
He said that the association between Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers is unprecedented. He said that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) led an extremely simple life with his companions, whereas today Muslims have become extravagant. Dr Hassan Askari Rizvi said that Iranian revolution proved that the change can be brought through Islamic revolution as the other revolutions of the 20th century were on secular basis. He emphasized that we should learn a lesson from Iranians that how to transform the society.
Participation of each group is essential to bring about a revolution, he added. Pir Nazim Hussain Shah also discussed the various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), quoting various incidents from his life. President Pak-Iran friendship Zia Haider Rizwi thanked the guests and presented mementos to them, vowing a better relationship with Iran in coming days.
