Pakistan face stern test: Iqbal Qasim

KARACHI – After a confident start against Kenya, Pakistan will be facing the sternest test in their World Cup campaign as they take on hosts and favorites Sri Lanka in their second match at Colombo on Saturday. The outcome of the match will set the trend in the group, according to former Pakistan Test left-arm spinner Iqbal Qasim.
“Pakistan have made a positive start. How they fare against Sri Lanka in the next game will be interesting to watch” he noted. He added that Sri Lanka will definitely enjoy the edge, playing in their own backyard and in front of a strong crowd support.
“I don’t think Pakistan will face any problem in reaching the quarterfinals. But a good show and victory against the Sri Lankans would be a morale booster,” the ex-chief selector said.
“All the top teams will be watching the clash with a great interest. The match will help the coaches to gauge the two teams for the upcoming matches.”
