KARACHI – The MQM Coordination Committee on Friday strongly condemned the murder of Sunni Tehreek (ST) activists Wasim Qadri and Danish Qadri by unidentified assailants. In a statement, the committee demanded that the government should bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to book and dispense justice.
Expressing sympathy with the ST office-bearers and the families of the deceased, the committee prayed for divine forgiveness of the ST workers.
The ST activists were shot dead late Thursday night on the Nishtar Road by unidentified men. Danish and Waseem were in-laws, and the former was also a member of the ST Sector committee.
Following the incident, tension had prevailed in many parts of the city including Saddar, Nishtar Road, Garden, Bolton Market, Kharadar and other adjoining areas where shops were forcibly closed down and all routine activities were suspended.
