LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board has barred Yasir Hameed from participating in the ongoing first class competition and also banned him from playing this year’s national T20 championship, besides imposing a fine of Rs 300,000 for his spot-fixing allegations against some national players.
Hameed, in a video interview with the British tabloid News of the World had claimed that some Pakistani players were involved in spot-fixing.
The batsman, who has not played for the national team since then, claimed that he was trapped into the interview by the NOTW, which had secretly video taped the meeting without his knowledge. A PCB disciplinary committee announced the punishment for Hameed.
