Lahore – Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has published a book “Faiz Ahmed Faiz in Beirut” by Tasleem Elahi Zulfi. The book brings new aspects of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s life by focusing on his activities and routine in Beirut during his stay there as an expatriate.
This was announced by PAL Chairman Fakhar Zaman in a briefing on Wednesday. Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) organized a series of nationwide seminars on Faiz Ahmed Faiz to celebrate 100 years of his birth. The first programme of this series was held at PAL’s main office in Islamabad, however all four provincial offices of PAL also organized such events.
Zaman further said that Zulfi had brought in to light those four years of Faiz’s life which have not been talked about before. Zulfi wrote his memoirs of his meetings with Faiz Ahmed Faiz during four years of Faiz’s asylum in Beirut.
He said that special issues of Quarterly “Adbiyat” and an introductory book on Faiz’s life and work had also been published by PAL under the series “Makers of Pakistani Literature”.
