Man killed as NATO vehicle attacked

QUETTA – A man was killed and ten others wounded in separate incidents of firing and rocket attack in different areas of Balochistan on Thursday while an Iran-bound goods train derailed after a railway track had been blown up in District Chaghi. Officials said armed men opened fire on a trailer carrying NATO supplies near Wadh area of Khuzdar some 360 KM away from Quetta on RCD Highway.
As a result an occupant identified as Usman Ali resident of Sheikhupura died on the spot while two others namely Irfan and Abdul Rehman sustained injuries. Levies personnel reached the site and shifted injured and dead to the hospital. In another similar attack, armed men ambushed a NATO tanker near Dahadar on RCDHighway. They pulled down both the driver and the cleaner set the vehicle on fire.
The Kandahar-bound tanker was coming from Karachi. Meanwhile, an Iran-bound goods train derailed near Dalbundin when unknown miscreants blew up a rail track near Dalbandin Railway Station in Chaghi district. Two bogies were badly damaged. In yet another incident of violence in Quetta, a group of labourers were fired upon at Shawakshah Road of Quetta.
Four labourers were injured who were later were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta. Police said investigation was underway.
