Lahore – A boy was crushed by a City District Government Lahore (CDGL) truck in the Kot Lakhpat Police Station precincts on Friday.
According to details, Naveed, 7, son of Abdul Qadir and a resident of the Ghulam Bhatti Colony was crossing the road when a speeding CDGL truck ran over him resulting in his instant death. The truck driver was arrested by police and an FIR lodged against him while the truck was also taken into custody.
Separately, a man was critically injured by unidentified robbers in the Islampura Police Station precincts. According to details, Abdul Rauf, a resident of the Outfall Road, was going to a local bakery on a motorcycle to buy breakfast for his children when he was taken hostage at gunpoint by two unidentified armed men.
Rauf resisted with the robbers on which they shot him and fled owing to which he was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is reported to be stable. Three women were injured when a rashly-driven van hit a cart, which collided into a tree at a bus stop in the Nawankot Police Station precincts.
According to details, three women were standing near a bus stop when a van driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a fruit cart, which hit the three women who were injured and shifted to the Jinnah Hospital. The van driver left his vehicle on the spot and fled.
An unidentified man died after falling unconscious in the Lower Mall Police Station precincts on Friday. According to details, a 50-year-old man was walking near the Mohni Road when he fell down unconscious. Local residents shifted him to the Mayo Hospital where he was declared dead by doctors while his body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy. Police said that the man could not be identified yet.
