KARACHI – A government female teacher was shifted to the hospital in a critical condition after she attempted self-immolation Wednesday in protest against her transfer to Murad Memon Goth and non-payment of salary for the last three months.
Shama W/O Habib of Government Primary School Memon Goth used kerosene oil to set herself on fire when she reached the school. According to the police, School teacher was transferred to another school in Murad Memon Goth about ten months earlier, but she had not left the charge and was not paid salary for the past three months.
A doctor said forty percent of her body had been burnt and her condition was critical.
