KARACHI – A PML-N activist was gunned down by unidentified people in Gulshan-e-Iqbal in the wee hours of Wednesday, police said. Yousuf Baloch, 40, was shot near Rab Medical Centre in Block 13 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
He was being taken to the Patel Hospital for treatment but he died on the way. Later, his body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy. Police believe that the murder could have been motivated by personal enmity.
In another incident, a 40-year-old man was shot dead at University Road. Gulshan-e-Iqbal SHO said that unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire at Naseer Khan near Safari Park. The victim’s body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy. The police suspect personal enmity behind the murder.
Separately, a man was killed and his brother injured when some unidentified men opened firing at them. Aziz Bhatti police said that Nauman, 22, and his brother were shot outside their apartment in Block 13-D of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The brothers were taken to the Aga Khan University Hospital where Nauman succumbed to his injuries. His body was shifted to the CHK for an autopsy.
In a separate case, a 27-year-old man was shot dead by two bandits in Block-D of North Nazimabad. North Nazimabad police said that two bandits tried to mug Muhammad Hashim and shot him when he tried to resist. A passerby named Zafarullah was injured by their firing. The body of the victim and the injured were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
