KIPS holds Annual Sports

LAHORE – The KIPS Annual Sports 2011were held in WAPDA Sports Complex for both boys and girls here the other day. The event was organised by the Sports Promotion Society and KIPS DPE, former gymnast and project manager of Punjab University Prof. Faisal Fayyaz. Naval Hayat Manget was declared the best athlete and the fastest girl of KIPS College. A special award was given to Nimra Qasim, captain of cricket team.
Prof. M. Anwer, Principal KIIPS College, Khalid Wazir Khan and Salman Maqsood, were the chief guests at the opening ceremony. Prof. Faisal Fayyaz stressed that the value of games and sports should not be underestimated, adding that developed societies give importance to physical activities. He said that sports teach young men the value of discipline and co-operation.

High Jump: Zahra bin Sohail 1st year, Iqra Shafiq 1st year, Fatima Rehman and Seemal Ateeq 1st year.
Sack Race: Nawal Hayat 1st year, Fareeha Hashmi and Aimen Ahmed 2nd year, Saima Zia 1st year, Naval Hayat Manget 1st year.
100 m race: Arifa pervin 1st year, Farah ch 2nd year, Insia Ahmed 2nd year.
Slow race: Sakeena 1st year, Naveen batool and Zarka Ali 1st year, Tehzeem Riaz 1st year.
Teacher’s race: Saqlain, Ifrabn babu, Irfan malik.
Needle race: Komal Riaz and Faiza Rao 1st year, Arfa Parveen and Shafaq Mansoor 1st year, Sadia and Nayab 1st year.
Relay race 4 x 100: Naval Hayat, Fatima Rehman, Zaira Javed, Rutaba Nazir 1st year, Zahra, Nimra, Bzait, Tehmina 1st year, Arifa perveen, Insia Ahmed, Farah Ch, Fareeha Hashmi 2nd year.
Staff race: Ghulam Mustafa, Najaf yasin, Ehsan malik and Raheel.
Hammer throw: Ainel Arooj 2nd year, Sumaira Yasmin 2nd year, Qandil Talib 2nd year.
