LAHORE – An additional district and session judge on Wednesday accepted an application filed by Moonis Elahi’s lawyer and suspended the impugned orders by judicial magistrate Irfan Basra regarding proclamation for Elahi’s arrest for allegedly being involved in National Insurance Corporation (NIC).
The court also set aside the arrest warrant of the suspect issued by the judicial magistrate. The application had been filed by Moonis Elahi through his counsel Muhammad Amir submitting that FIA had obtained proclamation orders for Elahi’s arrest from a judicial magistrate during the absence of accused from Pakistan.
It was stated that FIA had misled the court during the hearing to obtain the orders against a law abiding citizen who had all intentions of returning to the country.
