ISLAMABAD – Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Senator Raza Rabbani on Tuesday said the second phase of devolution of important ministries to provinces would be completed by the first week of March.
“Let me make it clear that there is no veracity to the news items that the devolution plan is being delayed. It is on time and there is no delay whatsoever,” he told the National Assembly while responding to a point of order raised by PML-Q MNA Marvi Memon.
“Under the 18th Amendment, the devolution plan is on and would be completed by the end of first week of March,” he informed the Lower House of the Parliament. Earlier, Marvi Memon said that a section of the press had reported a delay in devolution of certain ministries to the provinces according to the 18th Amendment.
The Research Centres should remain with HEC, Islamabad and funds should be released by HEC direct to the centres not by province.
