KARACHI – A few hours after PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif demanded that talks with the government can only resume after Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza apologises for his remarks against him, the latter issued a statement saying that his speech in Lyari on Sunday was not aimed at hurting Sharif’s feelings.
In his statement issued on Monday, Dr Mirza said that he has nothing against Nawaz Sharif, but the PML-N must avoid making undemocratic moves. Dr Mirza said that the PML-N must follow the Charter of Democracy and not repeat the old politics of floor-crossing and forward blocks. However, he said that if the PML-N mistreats PPP ministers in Punjab, the PPP will not sit idle.
WELCOMES PML-N: The PML-N was previously a provincial-level party but now it has been compounded in Lahore only due to its politics and is conspiring against the federation from its stronghold, Bilawal House spokesperson Ijaz Durrani said on Monday.
In two statements issued separately, the PPP leader stated that the PML-N has started threatening the largest political party of the country after Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza’s statement.
Durrani said that the Sindh home minister would provide VVIP protocol to the Sharif brothers, if they ever adopt the way of federal politics and arrive in Sindh to inaugurate their first political office.
