Ideas worth spreading – TEDx Kinnaird inspires hundreds

LAHORE – Technology, Entertainment and Design (TEDx) Kinnaird held an international conference for the second time at Kinnaird College for Women on Sunday. TEDx is an international non-profit organization that spreads commendable and innovative ideas through different conferences throughout the world.
TEDx Kinnaird is Pakistan’s first university based TEDx event that attracted a huge audience. The conference was supported by BARGAD youth organization, Gloria Jeans Coffees Defence, Google Pakistan, Sky Color Lab and Canon. A group of young and energetic people who believed in the power of making things happen in an innovative manner, addressed the conference based on the theme -‘Rethinking Us’.
The speakers touched upon issues, often overlooked, like citizen journalism, flood crisis, power of theatre, photography etc. The speakers including Jazib Tahir, Natasha Noorani, Faisal Mehmood, Sonya Rehman, Younas Choudhry, Mehreen Kasana, Zubair Khan and Elaina Alam inspired the audience to think deeper and grow stronger as individuals.
The Tedtalks of Maz Jobrani and LXD amused the audience even more. TEDx Kinnaird team including curator Areej Mehdi, Amna Raja, Hafsa Shorish, Maydda Nabeel, Nadia Farooq, Jahan Leena, Amnah Akram, Zainab Khan, Rehma Haider and Arshiya Kausar worked efficiently to put up a well-organized event.
