KARACHI – A separate force will soon be established for the protection of VIPs, which would relieve the regular police force from the task it is currently performing. Minister for Interior Rehman Malik said this on Saturday while addressing the members of business community at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to inaugurate the Crisis Management Cell.
He maintained that all possible measures were being taken to improve the law and order in the province through coordinated efforts by all the law enforcement agencies. “My ministry is closely monitoring the situation in Lyari Town, SITE Town and other areas of Karachi without any discrimination in coordination with all coalition partners and police force,” he said, adding that there would be no mercy for the criminals.
The ceremony was also addressed by MQM Rabita Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar who extended cooperation of his party to curb lawlessness and extortion.
