Bombed school’s student tops ETEA examination

TIMERGARA – A student from a terrorism-hit school at Sangolai Maidan got first position in district Dir Lower in Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency’s (ETEA) examination this year. The high ranking officials in the education department told Pakistan Today on Saturday that Abul Hasanat, a student of the Government High School Sangolai Maidan, got 70 percent marks this year in ETEA test and stood first in Dir Lower. The student belongs to a lower class family that can not afford the expenditures of private a school.
Another student from the same school had topped 9th class examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Malakand last year. The officials said that almost all the students of the school were very brilliant but due to less opportunities and resources, they were unable to demonstrate. The school was blown up by militants in 2009 when there were clashes between the Taliban militants and security forces.
