Hollywood veteran Debbie Reynolds is selling off her impressive collection of historic movie costumes, so she can cutback on her workload and retire without any financial concerns.
The Singin’ in the Rain star has been collecting classic outfits and memorabilia for decades and boasts one of the most coveted treasure troves on earth – and now she’s set to sell it at an auction in June to build her retirement fund.
The actress, who currently tours America with a one-woman show and writes a weekly column for a tabloid magazine, admits she’s tired of working so hard as she approaches her 80th birthday next year. The highlights of the Profiles in History sale include Marilyn Monroe’s white subway dress from ‘The Seven Year Itch,’ which is valued at £1.3 million, and Julie Andrews’ signed guitar from ‘The Sound of Music.’
