ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that federal government’s incompetence was to blame for making the Raymond Davis affair more complicated.
“Had the government taken timely and tangible stance on Raymond Davis issue, the situation would not have been so much complex”, he observed. He was speaking to journalists after a meeting with US Senator John Kerry here on Thursday Sharif said that within the 36 hours of the Lahore shootings PML-N had made its stance over the issue public and that party was committed to the same.
“Following the incident, US ambassador made a telephone call to us and we made it clear that the incident is subjudice and that only Pakistani courts would decide about the Davis case. Nawaz Sharif said that he had informed John Kerry that the Punjab government was seeking arrest of the driver of the US consulate vehicle sent for Davis’s rescue.
