Shutter-down strike in Sindh towns to support Qureshi

KARACHI – A shutter-down strike was observed in some towns of Sindh by Ghousia Jamaat to support former Foreign Affairs minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and protest the media trial against him. Shops remained close in Umerkot and a rally was staged by Aijaz Palee, Idress Palee and others.
A shutter-down strike was observed in Khipro. A rally in Kunree culminated into a large gathering in front of the press club, where speakers delivered speeches to support Qureshi. Businesses remained closed in Dhoro Naro Town and a rally was staged to support Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
A rally was also organised in Mirpurkhas that marched on different roads of the city. Ghousia Jamaat leaders held a press conference in Mirpurkhas in which they demanded that the media trial of Shah Mehmood Qureshi should be stopped. A large number of followers of Qureshi live in Sindh, especially in Umerkot and Mirpurkhas.
