Two FC men killed in separate attacks

QUETTA – Two personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) were killed and another wounded in an armed attack and a land mine explosion while an 8-inch diameter pipeline, supplying gas to Uch Power Plant, was blown up in Suhbatpur on Monday.
According to sources, unidentified armed men attacked a check post of FC with heavy weapons in Barkhan. As a result, one security personnel, identified as Aitzaz Khan, died on the spot while Saeed Ahmed received serious wounds. The attackers escaped from the spot after the FC personnel fired in retaliation.
A spokesperson of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed the responsibility for the attack and said one FC man was killed and two injured in Chamalang area, adding that another security personnel was killed in land mine explosion when over a dozen of them were on their way to inspect the attack site in Chamalang.
The BLA spokesperson further claimed killing an intelligence agency’s staffer besides injuring three of his colleagues in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Barkhan. However, when contacted, a spokesman of FC rejected the reports of attack on a check post in Barkhan or any casualty.
And in Toba Nokhani area of Dera Bugti, one FC personnel lost his life in a landmine blast while patrolling the locality on foot. In another incident, an 8-inch gas pipeline was damaged after it was dynamited at Darkahi area of Suhbatpur. Baloch Republican Army (BRA) spokesman Sarbaz Baloch claimed the responsibility for the attack and said two major gas pipelines were blown up in Dera Bugti.
