KARACHI – Conscious faculty of mind and stream of emotions constitute our personality; its interplay is reflected in our everyday life – just as a wave and a particle of light are inseparable, a press release issued by ArtChowk-the Gallery curator Bushra Hussain said.
Naveid Iqbal and Uzma Noor’s exhibition of works titled ‘Wave and Particles’ opened on Monday at ArtChowk. Iqbal and Noor’s artworks would be displayed at the gallery from Monday to Saturday between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm until February 28. “It has been proven in quantum mechanics that a single drop of water and its transformation into tide synchronises its dual character. Similarly, love, happiness, fear and anger identify our individuality,” says Hussain.
“The level of one’s freedom of expression varies in different spheres of life and personifies our multiple identities.” Iqbal is a graduate of University of Karachi (KU)’s Visual Studies Department, majoring in miniature painting and minoring in filmmaking; he is currently pursuing an MS-PhD at the Pakistan Study Centre.
Noor is a graduate of KU’s Visual Studies Department as well; she completed her Masters degree in 2D animation, video production, photography, drawing and graphic designing from Lahore’s National College of Arts. Their current art show features works titled ‘Myself’, ‘Under Current’, ‘Transition’, ‘Grey’ and ‘Conceived and Unconceived’; as well as the ‘Wave and Particle’ and ‘Construction-frame’ series.
