Six dead as house collapses

PESHAWAR – A two-storey building collapsed in the densely populated area of the provincial metropolis, leaving six dead, including three children, and injuring six others, Rescue 1122 and hospital sources said on Monday. The local police said the two-storey building tumbled and six people, believed to be the members of the same family, died in Mohallah Saleemabad, Khan Mast Colony area.
The building was reported to be old and in a dilapidated condition. Rescue1122 sources said rescsue workers arrived at the spot and recovered all the dead bodies from the debris. The injured were shifted to hospital. Those killed included Khairullah, 32, Phalawan, 35, three-month-old Sania, a four-month-old daughter of Wilayat, Kainat, 4, and Yaseen, 8.
At least six other members of the same family sustained injuries. They included Rehmanullah, Azizullah, Akhtar Gul, Shazia Phalawan and Khair Bibi, 30, wife of Phalawan.
