ISLAMABAD – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday issued summons for Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son Abdul Qadir Gilani for his alleged involvement in the Haj scam. Sources said the decision to interrogate Abdul Qadir was taken following the SC’s directions to FIA to question him in connection with the scam.
They said Abdul Qadir allegedly received Rs 20 million from former Haj DG Shakil Ahmad. In his statement to the FIA, PML-N MNA Imran Shah had said Abdul Qadir received Rs 30 million in bribe for Shakeel’s appointment as Haj DG. He said the money was paid to Zain Iftikhar Sukhera, who was a close friend of Abdul Qadir.
A FIA spokesman denied that the agency has issued summons for the prime minister’s son to question him regarding the Haj scam.
