LAHORE – Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir leader and women rights activist Advocate Amira Batool has said that the Pakistan People’s Party will win the upcoming general elections, which is expected to be held between April and July, with majority of votes.
Talking to a group of media persons here on Sunday, Advocate Batool paid rich tributes to the PPP leadership and said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto brought the lingering Kashmir issue in front of the world community and raised voices against Indian atrocities in the occupied state.
To a question, she appreciated Chinese decision to issue visas to Kashmiri students on a separate passport instead of the Indian passport, and said that this (decision) reflects that the emerging world power has recognized separate identity of Kashmiris. But she criticised the UN role for the earlier resolution of the longstanding issue.
On the occasion, senior PPP leader Sarfraz Naqvi pointed out that recently the UN held a referendum for South Sudan but it did not get its Kashmir resolutions implemented even after the passage of 63 years.
