KARACHI – The Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC) recovered and seized 1.5kg of hashish from the possession of an Afghan passenger at the Karachi airport on Sunday. The Customs DEC staff an Afghan passenger Abdul Resak Rasaki, who was leaving for Frankfurt, Germany via Dubai by Emirates Airlines Flight EK-601 on a special travel document issued to him in Germany in 2008.
During an examination of his luggage, the Customs staff recovered hashish concealed in specially carved out cavities in the lower portion of a pair of sandals that were kept in his suitcase. The Customs officers also found hashish concealed in a similar manner in the sandals he was wearing at the time.
The hashish recovered from the two pairs of sandals weighed 1.5kg. The passenger was arrested and a prosecution case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997 was registered against him.
