LAHORE – Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that the PPP government has killed all rumours and speculations about a clash between state institutions and successfully put democracy on a sustainable track by adopting reconciliatory posture with other political forces of the country.
“Despite never-ending and self-styled news analysis predicting clash between the executive and the judiciary, nothing of the sorts happened. I pay rich tribute to the legal fraternity for their appreciable role for the cause of democracy and rule of law in the country,” he said while addressing lawyers at the Governor House at a dinner he had hosted in honour of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa welcomed the SCBA cabinet at the Governor’s House.
The prime minister said the solution to Pakistan’s chronic problems lay in collective political wisdom that had been demonstrated on the occasion of passage of the historic 18th and the 19th amendments.
