SAHIWAL – Sahiwal Division Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq has expressed his dissatisfaction over the cleanliness in the city and directed the Sahiwal Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) to focus on maintaining cleanliness to provide a clean environment to the citizens.
While paying surprise visit to review the progress on various ongoing projects carried out under the city package, he said the heaps of garbage should immediately be removed from all the residential and commercial areas. District Coordination Officer (DCO) Waqas Ali Mahmood, Development Director Habib Jellani Vance, Sahiwal Administrator Sohail Ashraf and Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Mehmood Masood Tamana were also with him.
‘Clerics’ role for people’s guidance is important’: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Waqas Ali Mahmood has said that clerics’ role for the guidance of people is very crucial and they should play this role effectively to eliminate the menace of intolerance. He said this while chairing a District Peace Committee’s meeting at his office in which arrangements for celebrating the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were finalised.
He added that fool proof arrangements would be made on 12th of Rabi ul Awal and local community would also be involved in these arrangements. In the meeting, the clerics from various sects lauded the arrangements being made by the divisional and district administrations for Rabi ul Awal processions and extended their full cooperation in maintaining peace.
