RAWALPINDI – The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for former president Pervez Musharraf for his alleged involvement in the Benazir Bhutto murder case. In an in-camera hearing of the case at the Adiala Jail, ATC Judge Rana Nisar Ahmed issued an arrest warrant for Musharraf, and ordered him to appear before the court on February 19.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), during the last hearing of the case, had included Musharraf’s name in the charge sheet on the plea that he was not cooperating with the joint investigation team. FIA prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali said the main reason behind the delay in completion of probe into the Benazir Bhutto murder case was that Musharraf, despite repeated requests, had refused to appear before the joint investigation team.
He said Musharraf, CPO Saud Aziz and Baitullah Mahsud, had prior knowledge of conspiracy to assassinate Benazir Bhutto.
