LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) while welcoming the new small federal cabinet expressed the hope that the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani would take all possible steps for the welfare of poor people and save precious national exchequer.
They termed PPP Co-Chairman President Asif Ali Zardari’s move to downsize the cabinet as a wise decision and said it would have positive impacts on the economy.
PPP Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich said the PPP had offered many sacrifices for the cause of democracy in the country and it trimmed the cabinet to reduce the expenditure in the larger interest of people.
Finance Secretary PPP Punjab Aurangzeb Burki said a small cabinet would also ensure smooth functioning of various ministries and affiliated departments.
