LAHORE: Pakistan U-21 team is currently preparing at the national training field of Nong Jok (Thailand) and have completed five days of their camp training. The camp commenced on February 7 and on February 9, Pakistan put up gallant fight against Thailand U21 despite 1-2 defeat at Rajamangala National Stadium, one of the venue used for 16th Asian Cup in 2007.
The Pakistani team is in Bangkok for training camp in the build up for the Olympics Qualifiers. “Both the teams will launch their mission on February 23 with first legs. Pakistan face Malaysia while Thailand will meet Palestine. The Thailand-based camp will run till February 20 at the same venue and Pakistan Olympic team will leave for Malaysia on February 21.
Pakistan will take on Samutprakan Club on Saturday, February 12 at 4 PM in first of the three matches against Thai league clubs.
This is third Thailand training camp under Faisal-led PFF. At the same Nong Jok field Pakistan faced main and junior sets of well-known Thai BEC Tero Sasana Club in March 2004. Pakistan team on that occasion utilized the facilities provided by THA and went on to clinch the gold in SAG 2004 at Islamabad.
