LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday granted pre-arrest protective bail to former federal religious affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi until February 17 in the Haj corruption scam. LHC CJ Ijaz Chaudhry asked Kazmi to move the IHC for the bail’s confirmation with a fresh petition, as the matter fell in the territorial jurisdiction of Islamabad where the Haj scam case was lodged against him by the FIA. Khurram Latif Khosa represented Kazmi in the court. The court directed the former minister to pay Rs 5 million as surety bonds for protective bail and deposit the amount with the LHC Multan Bench.
