LAHORE – Model Town won the 2nd Javed Memorial Cricket Tournament, beating Mughalpura Whites by 41 runs here on Thursday. Batting first, Model Town were bowled out for 218. Rashid Riaz (87), Ashraf Ali (31), Nasir Jamsheed (30), and Jameel Khan (29) top scored for Model Town. Faheem Askari, Yasir Ali and Hassan Nasir took two wickets each for Mughalpura, while Imtiaz Shah and Afaq Shahid shared one apiece.
Mughalpura Whites could only score 177, for the loss of nine wicket. Sabteen Sarwar (26), Aamir Butt (25), Afaq Shahid (19), Imtiaz Shah (15*) and Zainul Hassan (14) were the top scorers. MT’s Mustfa Iqbal took three wickets, Hafiz Saad Naseem bagged two while Sohail Ahmad got one. Rashid Riaz was declared the man of the match, Jahangeer Mirza got the Player of the Tournament award, Aamir Butt was Best Wicketkeeper, Mustfa Iqbal was declared the Best Bowler, while Aftab was the Best Young Cricketer of the Tournament.
LCC president Khawaja Nadeem Ahmad and secretary Mian Javid Ali were the chief guests.
